ようこそ to Rika's homepage. (Last updated on 9/7/2012)
I am a sociolinguist who teaches Japanese, linguistics, and Asian studies courses in Asian Studies at St. Olaf College. I am the Director of Linguistics Program. I also enjoy coordinating the Japanese language Program by incorporating CBI and mentoring students, including study abroad programs and international internships programs. We just initiated collaboration with Environmental Studies to explore environmental issues in Asia funded by Luce Foundation. Student-faculty research has been energizing me for the last several years!
We successfully completed our Japanese tenure-track search. Thank you very much for your interest in our position.
Natalie Dmytrenko '14 and I presented our project on alternations in pronunciation in numeral classifer in Japanese at NWAV AP2 in Tokyo, in August. See the side bar for our poster.
