ようこそ to Rika's homepage. (Last updated on 1/14/2012)
I am a sociolinguist who teaches Japanese, linguistics, and Asian studies courses in Asian Studies at St. Olaf College. During 2011-12, I am the interim Director of Linguistics Program. I also enjoy coordinating the Japanese language Program by incorporating CBI and mentoring students, including study abroad programs and international internships programs. Student-faculty research has been energizing me for the last several years.
We successfully completed our Japanese tenure-track search. Thank you very much for your interest in our position.

Here's the overall results of the native speakers of Japanese who teach Japanese at the secondary or the post-secondary levels in north America. Thank you for those who participated in this study! We are currently collecting more data from college students from various parts of Japan! If you are a native speaker of Japanese and a college student in Japan, please participate in this study.
